A coworker took me to lunch today. Inside was spacious and the seats were comfy. We were seated right away and given menus. I got the (~$14)lunch menu fried shrimp with sour garlic & pepper sauce with fried rice and soup. It was decent. The sauce was sweet and slightly spicy. I liked all the banchan they had especially the kimchi. They were fairly quick which was good because we had to get back to work.

(*Disclaimer: I know that this restaurant is separately owned from the other location, with the same name, like 20 minutes away. However, I believe that since they share the same name, and serve the same quality food, they will share their review) This Korean-Chinese fusion restaurant does Chinese food better than Chinese restaurants do. Their food isn't overly salty, oily, or with MSG. I.LOVE.THIS.PLACE. An ode for you, Sam Won Gahk. Oh chicken with broccoli, how thy flavors meld, In each tender bite, a story is held. The crunch of the broccoli, the savory chicken, A perfect harmony that leaves me smitten. Hot sour soup, a symphony in a bowl, Each spoonful warms my body and soul. Tangy and spicy, comforting and bold, A taste sensation to behold. Seafood fried rice, a masterpiece divine, Shrimp, scallops, and fish all entwine. Mixed with vegetables and fluffy white rice, A dish so delicious, it's like paradise. Sweet and sour chicken on my plate so grand, Crispy coated pieces that I can't withstand. The tangy sauce with just the right kick, Leaves me craving every last lick. Best restaurant ever where these dishes reside, Where culinary art does abide. Everyone should go there to savor the delight, And bask in the flavors that dance through the night.

Sam Won Gahk offers a spacious and pleasant dining atmosphere, though the senior staff may create a sense of being rushed when ordering. Despite this, the food is undeniably fantastic, earning a solid 9/10. Service isn't top-notch, though. They thought we didn't tip and called us out, even though we left cash tip under receipts later they found out but didn't apologize. Overall, it's a nice spot, but there's room to grow. Overall, I'd rate it 7/10.

I stopped by yesterday for lunch. There's plenty of parking in the back. They have a great variety of lunch combos to choose from. I had the Jjam Bong (Seafood Noodles) and Tang Soo Yook (Fried Pork). It was very delicious and it hit the spot! The staff is very attentive and makes sure that you have everything you need. I highly recommend this restaurant in you're in the area! :)

I used to be obsessed with jjajangmyeon growing up. When I was in college, I came here and ate three bowls of jjajangmyeon because I loved it that much. Now, this establishment has significantly become more popular and has been remodeled since the 90s. I would still consider this place one of my favorite spots to visit because of the memories it holds."

I love getting their half jjampong and jjajangmyun. The price is great and the service is solid. The sweet and sour pork is one of my faves here in queens. This place is clean and great for families!

This is the most amount of times I've had jjampong in the span of a year, and I'm strangely fine with that! I don't think they sold the the half & half, so I got the Noodles with Chop Suey Soup + Fried Pork w. Sweet & Sour Sauce ($17.99). I asked for mild spice for the first time, since I was dying during my previous experience. This resulted in the soup tasting more watered down, but at least it was bearable! The Fried Pork was unfortunately not mixed well, with the top pieces being so DRY. But towards the end, the sweet and sour sauce coats the fried batter, letting the taste of the pork shine through. I wish they gave more banchan for 3 people. Although they did hover over us a bit without saying anything, the workers were kind to pour us more tea even after we finished our meals. It's a really spacious chill place, I'd recommend for a simple classic meal.

Stopped by this restaurant with some friends on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm and it wasn't busy. Lots of seating available but we made a reservation just in case. I ordered the Black Bean Noodles and the Fried Pork with Sweet and Sour sauce to share. Both options were delicious and worth every penny. The noodles were $8.99 and had a big portion, feels like it can be eaten for two meals. The only complaint would be that there wasn't a lot of meat; it was mainly just sauce, noodles, and onions. The fried pork was shared across 7 people and it was the perfect portion for sharing. We were able to finish everything and felt very full. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Chinese Korean fusion food. Their portion sizes are amazing and the food is delicious!

Sam Won Gahk is a Chinese restaurant operated by Koreans on the edge of where the Chinese community transitions into the Korean community. I thought this was hilarious so I had to give it a try! They have Korean, Chinese and English on the menu which is very helpful. It is otherwise full of quite common Chinese offerings. The plates are humongo (with prices to match) and are meant to be shared family style. We ordered the dishes that the Yelp community seemed to get quite commonly and they're quite tasty! I'd consider the cuisine a Korean Chinese fusion. The noodles were done very nicely, with a really nice texture and nicely flavored sauce.
